聚乙烯为惰性材料，除少数强氧化剂外，可耐多种化学侵蚀，无电化学腐蚀，无需做防腐层。
PE belongs to inert material, and it can resist erosion of lots of chemical substances except few strong oxidants. It has no electrochemical corrosion and requires no corrosion resistance layer.

Circular tensile strength of PE pipe has been confirmed by long-term hydrostatic test. PE pipe has long serve life, and it can be safely used for more than 50 years when buried at the temperature of -20°C to 40°C.
